Shawn C. O'Neil

Combat veteran. CEO. Published author. Architect of 21 brands and a family office built on discipline — not inheritance.

The Record

By the Numbers

$1.6 billion in structured transaction volume — acquisitions, originations, restructures, and principal-side capital relationships. Three consecutive seven-figure years as a hands-on operator and advisor. Turnarounds and executive deployments across 46 states. One company scaled from $4 million to $11 million in twelve months. First exit to acquisition.

21 brands. 51 domains. A published book. An ISBN-registered publishing house. A family office with 13 active principals. An AI infrastructure running 18 autonomous agents. And a training streak past 1,900 consecutive days.

This is not a résumé. This is a record. And it’s still being written.

1997 – 2001

United States Marine Corps

While his classmates were choosing colleges, Shawn C. O'Neil was at Parris Island. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 17 years old. Assigned MOS 0311 — Infantry — the front line, not a desk.

Four years in the infantry shaped everything that came after: the way he thinks, the way he builds, the way he leads. The Marine Corps didn't teach him discipline. It confirmed what was already there and gave it a structure that would never leave.

2008 – 2014

Army National Guard — Afghanistan

After the Marines, O'Neil wasn't finished serving. He enlisted in the Army National Guard as an 11B Infantryman and was hand-selected for one of the most dangerous specializations in theater: the Tactical Explosive Detector Dog (TEDD) handler program at Vohne Liche Kennels — one of the premier military K-9 training facilities in the world, featured on National Geographic's Alpha Dogs.

He deployed to Afghanistan as a combat K-9 handler. Walking point. An explosive detection dog at his side. Every step mattered. That deployment left him a disabled veteran with permanent hand trauma — and an unbreakable understanding that systems, discipline, and preparation are the only things that keep people alive.

Two branches. Two wars' worth of service. The kind of foundation you can't buy, fake, or shortcut.

The Operator

Turnarounds, Scale, and Exit

O'Neil transitioned from military service and applied the same operational doctrine to business. As Regional Director at ISI (International Services Inc), he became a turnaround specialist — deploying into broken operations across the country and rebuilding them from the inside out.

Not as a consultant who writes reports and leaves. As an operator who walks in, finds what's broken, fires what doesn't work, builds what's missing, and doesn't leave until the numbers move. He scaled a New York home services company from $4 million to $11 million in twelve months. Delivered turnarounds and executive deployments across 46 states. Executed his first acquisition exit.

Three consecutive seven-figure years followed — not from a fund, not from a family trust, not from a lucky deal. From hands-on operations, advisory, and disciplined execution in industries most people don't want to touch.

The Architecture

The Fortitude Ecosystem

Fortitude is not a company. It's an operating architecture — 21 brands across 51 domains, built to outlast the founder through doctrine, structure, and disciplined execution. It spans:

Capital & Sovereignty Advisory — Black Haus Capital and Haus of Black, a family office serving 13 principals across five managing seats.
Publishing — Black Haus Publishing, an ISBN-registered house. The XIII Pillars (Book One of the Doctrine of Discipline series) is live. Book Two is in development.
Coaching & Development — Life by Discipline, The Forge Live events, The Spark ignition sessions, and The Cadence sustained performance program.
Technology — METAtronics® (trading technology and AI security IP), Trade Refinery (AI-powered trading analytics), and Hypertronics (systematic trading infrastructure).
Motorsports — Black Circuit Racing (McLaren GT4 program targeting WRL to IMSA to Le Mans) and Hauling Ass Racing (grassroots racing and driver development).
Transport — H&N Hauling (vehicle transport, Black Glove Service).
Philanthropy — Serenity House Foundation (100% to impact, zero administrative fees).
AI Infrastructure — Ovi Black (AI chief of staff), 18+ autonomous agents, and a content engine producing 16,000+ pieces per year across all brands.

Every brand has a lane. Every lane has a system. Every system was built to run whether the founder is in the room or not.

Black Haus Capital

Sovereignty Advisory & Family Office

As CEO of Black Haus Capital, O'Neil advises high-net-worth families and principals on what he calls sovereignty architecture — the structures, entities, trusts, and governance frameworks that protect wealth across generations. Not financial planning. Not estate law. The operating system underneath all of it.

Haus of Black is the family office — 13 active principals across five named managing seats, built on invitation rather than inheritance. The advisory practice operates through the Sovereignty Architecture Method: intake, intelligence, diagnosis, architecture, implementation, governance, and continuity.

This is where the military discipline, the operator experience, and the systems thinking converge. Sovereignty isn't a product. It's an outcome — and O'Neil builds the infrastructure to guarantee it.

The Author

Doctrine of Discipline

The XIII Pillars — Book One of the Doctrine of Discipline series — is O'Neil's governing framework distilled into thirteen principles forged across war, business, recovery, and daily life. Published through Black Haus Publishing (ISBN-registered with Bowker), it is available on Kindle, in paperback, across nine global distributors, and as a nearly 10-hour audiobook narrated by the author.

The Disciplined Few — Book Two — is in active development. Where The XIII Pillars lays the doctrine, The Disciplined Few draws the line: the difference between those who own their outcomes and those who blame their way through life.

These are not self-help books. They are operating manuals — written by someone who built the systems he describes, under conditions most authors only theorize about.

The Builder

AI Infrastructure & Systems

O'Neil didn't hire a tech team. He built one — from AI agents. Ovi Black serves as the ecosystem's AI chief of staff, operating across Telegram, Discord, and internal channels with persistent memory and task coordination. Five specialist agents handle media production, legal analysis, legacy architecture, and strategic planning.

Overwatch monitors all systems. Sentinel conducts intelligence operations across 16 domains. A content engine produces 315 pieces per week across 21 brands — more than 16,000 per year. Forty-eight live websites. Automated deployment pipelines. Notion-integrated command center. All of it built, not bought.

The same man who walked point in Afghanistan with an explosive detection dog now runs an AI-supported operating architecture that most mid-market companies couldn't replicate with a full engineering department.

The Mission

Serenity House Foundation

100% to impact. Zero administrative fees. Serenity House Foundation exists for one reason: to put every dollar where it belongs. Veteran support, community development, and direct action — no overhead parasites, no galas for the sake of galas.

The foundation operates alongside a veteran-connected merchandise partnership spanning 30,000+ products across all 21 ecosystem brands, with proceeds flowing directly to the mission.

1,923
consecutive days of training
Started November 15, 2020 — No excuses. No exceptions. No days off.

Not motivation. Not a phase. Not a challenge. Doctrine — applied to the body every single day since 2020 as a disabled veteran with permanent hand trauma. The streak is not the point. The discipline that makes it non-negotiable is the point.

Philosophy

The Governing Code

Discipline is doctrine. Systems matter more than people. Legacy outlives the builder. What is not systemized does not endure.

Stoic Philosophy
Marcus Aurelius · Seneca
The discipline of thought, the governance of self, the acceptance of what cannot be changed.
Warrior Code
Bushido
Honor as non-negotiable. Service without surrender. The way of the disciplined warrior.
Governance Model
Lee Kuan Yew
The code applies to all, or it applies to none. Meritocracy over sentiment. Structure over personality.
Core Doctrine
The XIII Pillars
Thirteen governing principles forged across war, business, recovery, and daily life. Not theory. Doctrine.
Transparency

The Unedited Record

O'Neil does not ask to be seen as spotless. He asks to be seen truthfully. Most founders bury what doesn't fit the brand. He publishes it. Past claimed, not hidden — because the discipline that governs his life today was forged in the fire of what came before.
